1st Briefing - 2 weeks to go!
Dear STIHL iMfolozi Outrun Participant,
We can’t wait to welcome you to Africa’s oldest game reserve on Friday 26th August – yes, 2 weeks from today. And how good to be able to revert back to our August date. Hopefully not as warm as last year! A few quick items to make sure you are prepared for the event.
1. Entry Details:
It seems some of you have very kindly given your entries to friends or family because you cannot make it any more, and that is great. BUT we have to have the details of the new people in the system for insurance purposes. So if you have given this to someone else, but not yet done a ticket transfer, PLEASE make sure that you log into your Howler account, go to your ticket basket where this ticket will reflect, and do a ticket transfer to the person you want to give it to. Once completed, please let that person know and they need to enter their details accordingly. At this stage, no changes in funky pants sizes will be allowed unfortunately.
Remember, you are responsible for booking yoru own level of accommodation. If you have not yet sorted this, camping is the only option left, so please contact Mandy on firstname.lastname@example.org to process a campsite booking.
All meals are included, and you can buy a supporters package as well which gets your non-running partner all the meals, the sundowners catering and drinks, as well as entry into the park, a value package worth R1200. These need to be booked online by Friday 19th August, and can be done by clicking on the following link: https://www.howler.co.za/events/stihl-imfolozi-outrun-2022-4684/tickets
4. Gate Times:
The Nyalazi gate, the main gate for your to enter, will be open until 22h00 on the Friday and Saturday nights. We highly recommend that you try to avoid driving the N2 from Durban to Mtubatuba, and the reserve road from Mtubatuba to Hlabisa after dark, especially on the last Friday of the month, so try and leave Durban by 15h00.
We have a superb weekend of events set for you. Besides the amazing run through the bushveld, we have the sundowners tour, iMfolozi History talk by world renowned speaker Ron Gold on Saturday evening, plus we will be PVR’ing the SA v Aus rugby game (which will be live while we are all on the route running Day 1) and will replay that on the screen in the tent at 12h00 on Saturday. Then of course we have the infamous “Bushveld Opskop” on Saturday night which in the past has made many a man weak at the knee’s, and many a seasoned trail runner stay in bed on Sunday. This year, we welcome the amazingly vibey, infectiously fun Pretoria band, aplty named Zebra.
We will drop you all a formal briefing a few days before the event, but in the meantime if you have any specific queries, please email email@example.com
Cheers for now,
Stu and Fuzz.
